You buy the Bench‑Boot license (like the one above). It’s essentially a digital “permission” from Alientech.

Provide Your Tool Serial Number
When you order this activation, most official channels will ask for your KESS3 tool serial number so they can tie the protocol license to your specific unit.

Alientech Activates It Remotely
The activation is applied through the Alientech Suite software via internet — usually when you connect your tool and update it.
Once completed, the Bench and Boot protocol options appear in your software when selecting a vehicle/ECU that supports them.

You Can Then Connect to ECUs in Bench or Boot Mode
You’ll use appropriate cables and connectors to hook the tool up directly to an ECU (bench) or into a special programming mode (boot).
