Connect diagnostic tool to OBD port
Only use tools that support Volvo immobilizer functions.

Access the CIOM/BCM module
Select the correct module in the tool’s menu.

Authenticate / request security access
— This often requires OEM-level access or special codes.

Read current key list
— Saved keys and their transponder IDs are shown.

Erase or Delete keys
— All keys or selected ones can be removed from memory.

Add New Keys
— The tool puts the module into “learn” mode
— Present the new key(s) to the car per the tool’s instruction

Confirm and Test
— Verify doors start with new keys and old ones don’t (if erased).
