The “Gen1” refers to the first generation of Toyota Denso control units that use CAN‑bus communication over the OBD‑II connector and are built around NEC 76F00XX‑series MCUs (microcontrollers).

Works over the vehicle’s CAN‑bus via the OBD‑II port, in contrast to bench or direct hardware interfaces.

Supports ECM (engine) and TCM (transmission) units based on NEC 76F0038, 0039, 0040, 0070 and 0085 microcontrollers.
