Main function
This module is designed to:
- Read SRS (airbag) memory
- Erase crash (accident) data
- Restore airbag ECU to “virgin / no-crash” state
- Allow reuse of original airbag module after accident repair
In practice, it resets the airbag controller so it no longer stores:
- Crash event flag
- Deployment status
- Locked SRS state
Important notes
- It is only for airbag ECU data reset, not engine or ABS.
- After reset, the module usually still requires:
- Fault clearing with diagnostic tool (Renault CLIP / equivalent)
- Checking crash sensors, seat belts, and power supply
- If hardware inside SRS ECU is damaged, software reset will not fix it.
