MAGIC NTK03 REN ESL / ELV Steering Lock Emulator

Purpose & Function

• The ESL/ELV system electronically locks the steering column as a security feature and communicates with the vehicle’s immobilizer.

• When this system fails, the engine often won’t start even if the key is good because the vehicle thinks the steering lock isn’t disengaged.

• The emulator simulates the proper signal of a functioning ESL/ELV unit — effectively telling the car’s control units that the lock is released — so the engine can start without replacing the original lock unit.
