The TA64 Emulator emulates a HITAG‑AES transponder — the secure RFID chip used in key fobs for newer Toyota/Lexus/Scion vehicles — so that diagnostic software can interact with it during programming or emergency start procedures. Essentially, it acts as a stand‑in for an actual Toyota smart key transponder when performing certain service functions.

The TA64 emulator is typically used with the Abrites Diagnostics for Toyota / Lexus / Scion software and hardware setup to do things like:

• Key programming — especially for All Keys Lost or adding new keys on vehicles using the HITAG‑AES system.
• Emergency start situations — the emulator can function as a temporary key if needed.
• Supporting secure Toyota smart systems (e.g., Corolla 2018+ and Camry 2017+ platforms).

To work, it must be used alongside:

• An AVDI interface (Abrites Vehicle Diagnostic Interface)

• An active AMS subscription

• The relevant Abrites special function (e.g., TN011 or TN014, depending on specific procedures)
