BitBox Bosch MEDC17 Bench [SM2 ONLY]

This is a BitBox ECU programming module designed for bench‑mode reading and writing of certain Bosch engine control units (ECUs). It’s software activation only — you use it with compatible hardware like Scanmatik SM2/SM2 Pro adapters (or SM3 in SM2/SM3 versions).

Key Features

• Bench mode operation — lets you connect and work on the ECU outside the vehicle (“on the bench”).

• Automatic MCU detection — identifies microcontroller type and flash/EEPROM file size.

• Read & write Flash + EEPROM — so you can back up, restore or modify firmware.

• Checksum correction — it automatically fixes checksums on write to help avoid ECU issues.

• No ECU opening required — no need to physically open the ECU housing; you connect via service/test pads.

 Hardware & Compatibility

•  Requires a Scanmatik SM2 or SM2 Pro tool (and some versions support SM3).

•  Works on Bosch ME(D)17 and EDC17 ECUs that use Infineon TC17xx MCUs (e.g., TC1724/1728/1766/1767/1782/1792/1793/1796/1797).
