Dimsport New Trasdata Motorola MPC56X Soldered Connections

Dimsport New Trasdata is designed to work without the need to solder directly to the ECU board in most cases. It uses adapters, positioning frames and flat IDC cables to interface with the target processor (BDM / JTAG / BOOT), so you avoid having to solder wires directly to the MCU pads.

Adapter kits exist for specific processors

• For certain Motorola ECUs — including some with MPC56X CPUs — Dimsport supplies soldered adapter boards that must be soldered to the ECU PCB to create a reliable connection. These PCB adapters break out the MCU pad connections into something Trasdata can connect to.

  • Adapter board for EFI ECUs with MOTOROLA MPC56X CPU (often labeled F34NTA12) — this is a board/wire harness meant to be soldered onto the board for BDM or JTAG connection.

What soldered connections usually involve
