Orange5 PICAVR Adapter Microchip PIC12,PIC16 and Atmel AVR

The Orange5 PIC/AVR Adapter (PICAVR) is an accessory used with the Orange5 Programmer to program and read certain Microchip and Atmel microcontrollers.

What it supports

This adapter is mainly designed for:

• Microchip PIC12 series
• Microchip PIC16 series
• Atmel AVR microcontrollers (8-bit AVR family)
  

  Typical use case

  You connect:

  1. PIC/AVR chip → adapter socket or clip
  2. Adapter → Orange5 main programmer
  3. Software selects correct chip type (PIC12 / PIC16 / AVR)

  Then you can perform read/write operations.

  Important notes

  • Some chips are read-protected (locked) and cannot be fully read
  • Correct chip selection in software is critical
  • In-circuit programming may require lifting pins or isolating the MCU from the board
