It’s an inline CAN-bus signal filter that sits between the dashboard (instrument cluster) and the car’s wiring harness.
Main purpose
The device is mainly used in instrument cluster programming / odometer calibration work, and it works by:
- Preventing the cluster from syncing mileage data from the BDC/IMMO module
- Helping avoid the dashboard reverting to original mileage after changes
- In some cases, helping reduce “black screen / red dot / cluster sync issues” on ID7 dashboards
